What is a blog planner & why do bloggers need them
A blog planner is a centralised place where you can plan and organise your blog content. This could be in the form of a physical notebook, an app on your phone or computer, or even just a simple spreadsheet.
The key benefits of using a blogging planner are that it helps to keep you organised (so you can avoid that dreaded feeling of forgetting to post), on track (so you can hit those all-important blogging milestones), and motivated (because, let’s face it, blogging can be tough sometimes).
Plus, if you’re someone who likes to plan and schedule their content in advance, a blog planner can be a lifesaver. This is particularly true if you’re working with team members or guest bloggers, as it helps to ensure that everyone is on the same page.
Some things bloggers need to organise and plan are:
- Blog post ideas
- Blog content schedule
- Social media posts
- Affiliate tracker
- Tracking stats
- Affiliate marketing programs
- Keywords
- Goal setting
- Blog traffic tracking
- Weekly goals
- List of tasks
How to choose the best planner for you
Is it aesthetically pleasing?
I know, I know. Don’t judge a planner by it’s cover… but let’s be honest, we all do it. And there’s nothing wrong with that! After all, if you’re going to be looking at this thing every day, you might as well choose the perfect planner that makes you happy.
Is it easy to use?
The best blogging planner in the world is no good to you if it’s so complicated that you can’t figure out how to use it. Look for something that is simple and straightforward, with a user-friendly interface.
What do you need it for?
I LOVE blogging. I eat, sleep and dream about blogging. But that’s not to say there’s not other important stuff in my life. So, I need a planner which helps me to see the big picture and juggle all of the different balls I have in the air – travel, medical appointments, socialising with friends – you get the picture.
Do you want a physical or digital planner?
Some people just love the idea of writing in a physical planner (let’s be honest, how often do we actually WRITE these days??). But others are super savvy and want to go digital for the ease and organisation.
What features does it have?
Some blogging planners come with lots of bells and whistles, such as a social media planner, editorial calendars and to-do lists. Others are much more basic, with just a monthly calendar and space for your content ideas. It really depends on what features you need in a blogging planner.
How much are you willing to spend?
There’s a huge range of prices when it comes to planners – from free printables to $100+ physical ones. Work out your budget and what you’re willing to spend before diving in head first and buying the most expensive one you can find.
9 Best blogging planners
Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s take a look at some of the best blogging planners on the market…
Best Blogging Planners – Physical
#1 Law of Attraction Planner
The Law of Attraction Planner is a quality, comprehensive planner aimed at helping you manifest your dreams and goals.
The look of this planner is definitely unique, with a fun and colorful design. But it’s not just a pretty face – this planner is packed full of features to help you plan and grow your blog.
Here’s what you get with the Law of Attraction Planner:
- Success roadmap
- Vision board
- Inner pockets
- Over 295 productivity stickers
- World map
- Habit trackers
- Mind maps
- Morning and evening routines
- 248 pages of life transformations
- Journal pages
- Goal setting pages
This is a great option if you’re someone who loves to get creative with their planning. It’s packed with useful features, and the price reflects this. It may be a good one to put on your Christmas or birthday list!
Pros
The daily plan is really helpful for keeping on top of everything you need to do. The goal setting pages are great for helping you to focus on what’s important. The weekly and monthly planners are perfect for long-term planning. And this planner is definitely visually appealing.
Cons
Is a little pricier than other planners. There’s a lot going on in this planner and some people may find the daily task list a bit overwhelming.
#2 Regolden Daily Planner (best value blog planner)
The Regolden Daily Planner is fantastic value for money and one of the most affordable planners on this list. But don’t let the low price tag fool you – this planner is perfect for beginner bloggers starting to set out their goals and daily tasks.
Some of the features of the Regolden Daily Planner are:
- 180 undated daily planning pages
- Gratitude prompts
- Meal planner
- Water tracker
- Priority lists
- Daily to-do lists
- Hourly schedule
- Notes section
Pros
The planner is easy to use and perfect for those just starting their blogging journey. It’s less overwhelming than other planners on the market. The priorities section helps to increase productivity by making sure the necessities get done each day.
Cons
This planner is on the simpler side, so if you’re looking for something with more bells and whistles, this may not be the one for you.
#3 The Panda Planner Pro
A very popular planner, the Panda Planner is perfect for bloggers who want to increase their productivity and achieve their goals.
If you don’t use a planner every single day, this is a great option as it comes with 6 months worth of undated days to plan out. This means that if you only use your planner sporadically, there’s no wastage.
The Panda Planner uses an easy layout which is perfect for getting your thoughts down quickly. The Panda Planner also comes with a weekly and monthly overview so you can plan out your blogging goals in advance and review at month end.
The key features of the Panda Planner are:
- Daily, Weekly and monthly calendar spreads
- Affirmations section
- Gratitude prompt
- Daily reviews
- Exercise tracker
- Priority tasks
- Other tasks
- Daily schedule
- Daily, weekly and monthly wins
- Project overview
- Goal tracker
- Habit tracker
Pros
This planner comes in 5 different colours (Cyan is my favourite!) to suit everyone’s taste. It’s great for helping you to focus on your goals and stay on track. The layout of the planner is very user-friendly and perfect for those who want to get their thoughts down quickly. The monthly overviews are great for long-term blog planning.
This planner also comes with some incredible bonus ebooks – ‘How to crush your goals’ and ‘A billionaire’s guide to productivity’, as well as a mini video course to help boost your productivity.
Cons
If you want to use your planner every single day, then this planner won’t be for you as it only comes with 6 months worth of days (or you’d have to buy a second one to do you for a full year). It doesn’t come with space to write general notes each day.
#4 The Passion Planner
The Passion Planner is designed to help you “find your passion and live a life full of purpose”. You have the option of choosing a fully dated book or an undated book which you can start using at any time of the year (my preference, as I hate waste).
As a blogger, it can be easy to get tied up in something for hours on end and not get to everything on your day to day to do list. What I love about The Passion Planner is that it has time blocking sections so you can easily remember to move on from one task to the next.
This planner is designed to help you define and break down your short and long-term goals, as well as how to incorporate them into your daily routine.
With The Passion Planner, you’ll get:
- Passion roadmap
- Goal setting brainstorming
- Weekly and monthly plan
- Daily space to journal, brainstorm, draw, mindmap, take notes
- Daily scheduler
- Self-care tracker
Pros
The Passion Planner is aimed at small business owners and encourages business goal setting and reflection. This makes it perfect for bloggers who want to take their blog to the next level. It’s sleek, with it’s faux leather cover and subtle debossed logo.
Cons
The Passion Planner is on the more expensive side, however it is worth the investment if you’re serious about taking your blog to the next level. It doesn’t come with any bells and whistles like some of the other planners on this list (not necessarily a bad thing). It’s very goal oriented, so if you’re just looking for a planner that you can plan out your daily tasks, this may be a little much for you.
#5 Blog Growth Planner (best overall blog planner)
If you know Ana from The She Approach, then you’ll know that she is the queen of organisation and goal setting. Her blog growth planner is designed to help you map out your content, grow your traffic and make money from your blog.
Because she’s a blogger, you know this planner is going to have everything you need. Here’s what’s inside the Blog Growth Planner:
- Blog content idea spread
- Affiliate program tracker
- Payouts tracker
- Goal setting exercises
- Income and expenditure trackers
- Growth trackers
- Weekly to do lists
- Email newsletter planner
- Monthly overview
- Guide mapping
- Google analytics and traffic prompts
- Social reach reviews
Pros
Ana’s blog growth planner is one of the most comprehensive planners on this list and would be perfect for those who are serious about taking their blog to the next level. It’s also the most affordable blog planner I’ve found, especially for the features it provides.
Cons
The monthly layout is set out on just one page, which doesn’t leave much room to write. Some of the pages are also not lined so if you find it difficult to write without lined pages, this may not be the planner for you. If you’re just starting out, or don’t have much experience with goal setting and planning, then this planner may be a little overwhelming for you.
#6 Go Girl Planner
The Go Girl Planner is a fun, stylish and cute blog planner that’s perfect for the busy busy on the go. It’s another of the really popular planners out there and it’s easy to see why.
If you’re looking for an aesthetically pleasing, simple but effective planner, then the Go Girl Planner is for you.
Here’s what you’ll find inside:
- Monthly and weekly spreads
- Notes pages at the back
- Fun stickers
- Pockets for notes
- Weekly plan
- Monthly plan
- Goal setting spread
- Strategy section
- Mind mapping
- Habit tracker
- Priority lists
- Yearly goal section
- Colourful ribbon bookmarks
Pros
The Go Girl Planner is perfect for busy bloggers who want a pretty planner to help them stay organised. I love the monthly and weekly layout as it’s easy to see what’s coming up and plan accordingly. The notes pages at the back are also really handy for jotting down ideas, reminders, etc. It comes in 12 different colours and two different sizes – both easy to carry around on the go.
Cons
The compact size is quite small so you may find it too difficult to write in and the monthly calendars only have space for 5 weeks, when some months span over 6 weeks. Not suitable for children as it also mentions ‘romance goals’.
#7 Legend Planner
The Legend Planner is another incredibly popular planner amongst bloggers. It focuses on helping you achieve your goals and dreams, designing the life you want and increasing productivity.
It’s a pretty stylish planner, with unique artwork engraved on the cover. And it comes in a whole host of colours and designs to suit your personality.
The key features of the Legend Planner are:
- Undated monthly and weekly planning spreads
- Stickers
- Inner pockets
- Ribbon bookmarks
- Habit tracker
- Personal to-do list
- Work to-do list
- Weekly review
- Monthly goals
- Goals by life area
- Self-discovery and vision
- Strategy & daily rituals
- Monthly reflection
- Action steps
- Note pages
Pros
The Legend Planner is perfect for bloggers who want to focus on goal setting and achieving their dreams. I love the monthly and weekly layout, as well as the habit tracker and goal setting spreads. The stickers are also a nice touch.
Cons
Some people may find the layout a little too busy and overwhelming.

First up on the list for best digital blogging planners comes from one of my favourite blogging coaches, Leanne Scott of Passive Income Superstars – The Blog Boss System.
The Blog Boss System helps you plan, organise, manage and track all the important aspects of your blog business in one place. It’s online, so you’ll have access to all the materials and worksheets from anywhere in the world. If you’re looking for a printable blog planner, you can always print out the various templates and handwrite instead of using digitally.
Here’s some of what you’ll get with The Blog Boss System (there’s way too much to mention all!):
- Goal plans
- SEO research
- Social media planner
- Affiliate strategy
- Receipts & invoices organiser
- Pinning management

- Life organiser
Pros
This really is a one of a kind planner – I haven’t seen anything like it before. It will help you plan, organise and track every aspect of your blog business – from goal setting and SEO research, to social media and affiliate marketing. The planner bundle is very easy to follow, with an Airtable tutorial, and Leanne is always available to answer any questions. She also includes a bunch of bonuses, such as extra spreadsheets and audience survey template.
Cons
It’s a learning curve if you’re not used to working with digital materials. It would be for more experienced bloggers (6+ months) rather than brand new bloggers as it may be overwhelming for newbies.
#9 12 Month Easy Marketing Planner
The 12 Month Easy Marketing Planner is a beautiful digital marketing planner which is perfect for bloggers, business owners and entrepreneurs who want to take their business to the next level.
The planner includes 12 months of marketing planning, as well as a bonus social media content calendar. It’s designed to help you save time, money and stress, by having all your marketing organised in one place

The 12 Month Easy Marketing Planner is an excellent choice for bloggers and business owners who want to take their marketing to the next level. I love the amount of content ideas, as well as the caption and blog post planner – they’ll definitely save you a lot of time! The planner is also very well designed and easy to use.
Cons
Not your usual planner – more like a marketing course in planner form.
